LF36 – Offering the Asaṅga Bodhisattva Prayer Lamp

Pure wisdom proclaims the Dharma like sun and moon;
Perceiving all places with immeasurable supreme insight.
Upholding the holy teachings, abiding vast like the sky—
At the feet of the noble Asaṅga, I bow in homage.

🍃 Merits of Asaṅga Bodhisattva
🪔 Revered as the founding master of the Yogācāra (Mind-Only) school, Asaṅga opened a great path for practitioners, honored as the one who “opened the great chariot track.”
🪔 He received the Five Treatises of Maitreya directly from Maitreya Bodhisattva, and realized countless samādhis as he listened.
🪔 All his actions were first sought by consulting his Guru and Yidam, and the disciples who trained under him all became great Tripiṭaka masters, making profound contributions to the flourishing of the Dharma.
🪔 His major works include:
Abhidharma Samuccaya
Mahāyāna-saṃgraha
Compendium of Ascertainments of the Mahāyāna
Yogācārabhūmi Śāstra, and others.
His foremost disciple: Vasubandhu Bodhisattva.

🍃 Merits of the Offering
🪔 Supporting the construction and development of the Monastery, ensuring the Dharma remains and spreads widely.
🪔 Any remaining funds will continue to support the monastery's Dharma propagation efforts, benefit sentient beings, and support the Sangha's education and livelihood, thereby increasing the donor’s blessings and merits.

🪔 The monastery will prepare a Prayer Lamp of Light to be respectfully offered to Asaṅga Bodhisattva, praying that the donor:
Attains great wisdom
Gains clear understanding of all scriptures
Achieves unobstructed eloquence
Is continually guided by Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva
Accomplishes the Three Principal Aspects of the Path, and finally attains Buddhahood
