LF35 – Prayer Lamp Offering to Nāgārjuna Bodhisattva

With the wisdom of emptiness, perfectly and directly perceived,
through diligence and perseverance, one gains sublime auspiciousness.
Known as the second Sage after the Buddha, renowned throughout the world—
At the feet of the Noble Nāgārjuna, I offer homage.

🍃 Merits of Nāgārjuna Bodhisattva
🪔 Also known as Arya Nāga or Nagarjuna the Great. With unmatched mastery, he clarified the profound intent of the Buddha’s teachings without reliance on others’ interpretations. He founded the Madhyamaka tradition, opening the great chariot path of the Middle Way, and is thus honored as the “Trailblazer of the Great Chariot.”
🪔 During the Buddha’s lifetime, he was a young child named “Delight of the World” (or “Beloved by All Beings”). The Buddha personally prophesied that four hundred years after his parinirvāṇa, this child would take ordination as a monk and perform great works for the Dharma.
🪔 Nāgārjuna composed numerous profound treatises, including Praise of the Dharmadhātu, the Mahāprajñāpāramitā-śāstra, and the Six Root Madhyamaka Treatises (Mūlamadhyamakakārikā, Yuktiṣaṣṭikā, Śūnyatāsaptati, Vigrahavyāvartanī, Vyavahārasiddhi, and Ratnāvalī), illuminating both Sutra and Tantra.
🪔 His principal disciples included Āryadeva, Buddhapālita, Bhāviveka, and Candrakīrti.

🍃 Merits of the Offering
🪔 Supporting the construction and development of the Monastery, ensuring the Dharma remains and spreads widely.
🪔 Any remaining funds will continue to support the monastery's Dharma propagation efforts, benefit sentient beings, and support the Sangha's education and livelihood, thereby increasing the donor’s blessings and merits.

🪔 The Monastery will prepare a Radiant Prayer Lamp on behalf of the donor and offer it to the Supreme Nāgārjuna Bodhisattva. May the donor swiftly realize the correct view of the Middle Way, attain unobstructed eloquence, realize the Three Principal Aspects of the Path, and ultimately attain Buddhahood.
