CNY303 – Smoke Offering to Protective Deities and Earth Spirits (For Dispelling Disasters and Removing Obstacles)

🧧 With exquisite smoke offerings, we make offerings to the benevolent deities and earth spirits who have long protected us. May past karmic obstacles be purified, difficulties reduced, favorable conditions increase, misfortune be transformed into good fortune, and adversity turn into auspiciousness.

💫 What is a Smoke Offering?
🏮 A smoke offering is the reverent offering of pure incense, fine food, and fragrant substances, respectfully presented to all benevolent deities and earth spirits of the ten directions.
🏮Through this rare and virtuous offering, may the benevolent deities and earth spirits rejoice in receiving the offerings, their spiritual power increase, and may they protect the practitioner and donor in home, livelihood, and spiritual practice, bringing fulfillment and auspicious completion in all endeavors.
🏮As stated in the verse:
“Through this cause of offering the sublime smoke,
All guests of the worldly and transcendent realms
Rejoice and are fully satisfied, each returning to their own abode.
May the merit of this be dedicated so that all virtues may greatly increase.”

💫 Why Make Special Offerings to Benevolent Deities and Earth Spirits?
🏮 Benevolent deities and earth spirits are beings of the spirit realm endowed with merit and authority; they do not partake of offerings together with ordinary spirit beings.
🏮 By specially preparing offerings for them, we express gratitude for their protection of the Dharma and their guardianship over ourselves and our family members.

🏮 For those who opt to add a blessing tablet, the monastery will prepare a “Health and Peace Blessing tablet” and offer a Light Offering Lamp on behalf of the devotee.
