CN103 – Ban Foo 49-Day Merit Dedication for the Deceased

✨ May the departed be freed from obstacles, let go of all attachments, and be guided by the Buddha to a favorable rebirth.

💫 Merits of the Offering
🌸 The Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva Pūrvapraṇidhāna Sūtra teaches that when loved ones create merit on behalf of the deceased—such as offering banners and lamps, reciting sutras, making offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and reciting their holy names—the resulting merit helps reduce karmic obstacles and supports the deceased on their onward journey.
🌸 Furthermore, if wholesome deeds are performed throughout the 49 days following death, the deceased may be freed from unfortunate rebirths, attain rebirth in the human or heavenly realms, and receive immeasurable benefit. The living who perform these virtuous acts likewise accumulate great merit and blessings.

✨ A 49-Day Longevity Lamp Offering will be made on behalf of the deceased, praying for the compassionate blessings and guidance of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
✨ Offerings will be made to Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva to accumulate merit for the deceased.
✨ Each week, the Sangha will conduct a fire offering and dedicate the merits, praying that the deceased may be reborn in the Pure Land or swiftly obtain a precious human rebirth with the opportunity to practice the Dharma.
✨ The Sangha will dedicate merits to the deceased continuously for 49 days.

🌸 May the departed be received by the Buddha's compassionate light, be freed from karmic obstacles and suffering, and attain rebirth in the Pure Land or another fortunate realm.
